CIRCUS – CIRCUS
Frida & Svenand the stolen dreams
For the Kinderklangwolke 2024 on Sunday 8 September in the Donaupark, presented by SPARKASSE OÖ und LINZ AG, the Kuddelmuddel children's cultural centre once again produced an open-air musical this year, this time with music by Titus Vadon. The internationally renowned photo artist and author of Ilvie Little Susanne Stemmer was responsible for the content. All children and their families and friends were cordially invited to the Kinderklangwolke to experience the adventure about vanished dreams, a bizarre circus and two brave children live.
‘‘Clear the ring for all children from all over Upper Austria’ was the motto of Kinderklangwolke 24, presented by SPARKASSE OÖ and LINZ AG, because this year everything revolved around the circus and stolen dreams! We gave young people - our audience - a stage. They were able to immerse themselves in the colourful adventure as performers or spectators and participate with their diverse talents. The story of Frida & Sven shows how important it is to believe in your own dreams. We hope that we can teach the kids to never lose sight of their own dreams for their future. This year's production, which included a commissioned composition and a specially written story, was not the only way we wanted to conjure up a special afternoon and bring a sparkle to the children's eyes. The huge play and creative programme in Donaupark Linz, which focused on joint activities and inclusive togetherness, was also intended to be a highlight for the families. For us, the LIVA and the team at the Kuddelmuddel Children's Cultural Centre, it is very important that the Kinderklangwolke provides a complete cultural experience with free access for children and families,’ adds René Esterbauer BA MBA, Commercial Director of the LIVA.
The team at the Children's Cultural Centre devised a creative programme specially geared towards the theme of the Children's Sound Cloud. Play stations were also carefully planned and thematically coordinated. What was definitely included? Games, something to get active, juggling, walking on stilts, magic and more.
The installation by artist Clemens Bauder combined organ playing and an ensemble of newly built playground equipment to create a collective musical instrument in the public space. Different organ pipes were operated by swinging and seesawing together - a sound space unfolded on the organ playground that made Anton Bruckner (on the occasion of the anniversary of his 200th birthday) audible and tangible in both an abstract and playful way.
In the Bruckner Year 2024, the young audience once again romped around in a relaxed atmosphere in the Danube Park near the Brucknerhaus Linz and immersed themselves in a varied musical and cultural experience with family members of all generations. Numerous food and drink stations as well as a variety of hands-on activities rounded off the programme of this popular Linz family event.
